Frequently asked questions

What is Avarto?
Avarto adds an AI assistant to your website in one script tag. It answers visitors from your own content, runs permission-based experiments to lift conversion, and reports the outcomes from inside the conversation. It's served by an open-source stack, and the animated avatar and voice are optional.
How do I add Avarto to my website?
You add it with a single script tag. It loads after first paint so your page stays fast, then greets visitors and answers from your configured content. You control the tone, knowledge, skills, experiments, and the optional avatar and voice from the business console.
Where do the answers come from?
Answers are grounded in your own content. You point Avarto at your site and docs, and it responds from that corpus, with citations, instead of making things up.
What can I A/B test, and how do I know a result is real?
You can experiment with the assistant's personality and tone, the qualifying questions it asks, proactive offers like a comparison or discount, and whether voice or the avatar is on at all. Every experiment reports lift with a 95% confidence interval and uses a holdout group, so you can tell a genuine win from random noise rather than reading a bare bar chart.
How is this different from Google Analytics or session replay?
Page analytics and session replay see clicks and scrolls, then go dark the moment a visitor starts a conversation. Avarto measures the outcome inside the chat — the questions asked, whether it ended in a sale — and ties each one back to the experiment variant that produced it. A holdout group that never sees the assistant lets it estimate causal sales uplift: the revenue actually added, not just sales it was near.
Is Avarto privacy-first? What about visitor data?
Yes. Measurement is anonymous by default and Avarto does not store raw IP addresses. Tracking is consent-tiered and it honours Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals out of the box, so you get the outcomes you need without building a profile of every visitor.
Is Avarto open source?
Avarto runs on an open-source stack with no proprietary SaaS lock-in, so you keep control of your data and deployment.
Can I earn money by creating assets?
That's the plan — but the creator marketplace isn't open yet. We're building it so that if you make 2D characters, voices, or behaviours, businesses can license your work for ongoing, daily-prorated royalties. Join the waitlist on the creators page and we'll tell you when submissions open.
How much does Avarto cost?
Avarto is free to start with no card required. Paid plans are priced per region — see the pricing page for current monthly and annual plans in your currency.
